AEROGEL is said to be the lightest solid on Earth, composed of more than 90% air by volume. Due to its porous structure, there is almost no air convection, and it has an extremely low thermal conductivity. Therefore, the material itself acts like a "vacuum insulation" to provide insulation.

On a heated iron plate,
・Aerogel (1mm thick)
・Normal batting (10mm, 15mm, 25mm)
were placed side by side, and ice was placed on top of them to compare the melting speed.
The results are clear.
The characteristic of aerogel is that it provides excellent insulation with a thickness of only 1mm.
【Heat Generation -FLARE-】
FLARE is our independently developed heat-generating batting.
This batting uses nano-polymer polyester staple fibers.
It is a new material that reacts to infrared rays emitted from sunlight and the human body, converting light energy into thermal energy to generate heat.
Furthermore, since the nano-polymers are kneaded directly into the yarn,
the function lasts semi-permanently.
As shown in the photo below, a sandwich of AEROGEL insulation sheet and FLARE is used as the batting in the product.
This achieves both insulation and heat generation effects.

As a result of illuminating with a reflector lamp for 10 minutes,
a maximum temperature difference of 6.1℃ was observed.

【Flame Retardancy -FIRE RETARDANT-】
The outer fabric covering the high-performance batting of AEROGEL + FLARE
is treated with a flame retardant finish that meets the American flame retardancy standard "CPAI-84".
The CPAI-84 standard specifies:

However, the test results for this product are as follows:

Both values significantly exceeded the acceptance criteria.
This means that even if sparks adhere, they will not spread.
It is a material that can be used safely near a bonfire.
【Water Repellency -WATER REPELLENT-】
The outer fabric is also water-repellent.
In the water repellency test (JIS L 1092) conducted by an inspection agency, it achieved a level 4 rating, the second highest among 5 grades.
As shown in the photo, water beads up, so you can use it with peace of mind even if rain or condensation from inside the shelter drips onto it.
