This is the 13th installment of our series introducing great spots for kayaking and SUP.
This time, we kayaked and SUPed on Kuzuryu Lake in Fukui Prefecture.
Kuzuryu Lake is an artificial lake created by a rockfill dam.
It has been selected as one of the "100 Best Autumn Foliage Spots in Japan," and the 266-meter "Bridge of Dreams" over Kuzuryu Lake is also a highlight.
A map is included at the end of this article, so please check it as well.
"Kuzuryu Lakeside Mobilage" is just a short walk to the lake!

The drive from Tokyo to Kuzuryu Lake is a bit long, taking about 5 hours and 30 minutes.
However, the spacious atmosphere surrounded by nature is exceptional.
The campsite we used this time was "Kuzuryu Lakeside Mobilage."
It's a spacious campsite with a total of 52 sites, including A sites, B sites, and forest sites.
All sites allow you to park your car next to your tent, and the ability to walk directly to the lake is also attractive.
If you use the "A site," which is closer to the lake, you can launch your kayak or SUP directly in front of your tent, making it an ideal site for those who want to enjoy kayaking and SUP.

Launching out - paddling leisurely onto the vast lake surface -

After setting up the tent and taking a short break, we launched onto the lake in front of us.
The water quality was excellent, and the lake surface was crystal clear.

We paddled while gazing at the lush green mountains and the Bridge of Dreams.
We spent a peaceful and relaxing time chatting with friends.

You can fully enjoy kayaking and SUP in an open space where there is "nothing but nature."
Kuzuryu Lake combines "easy access to the waterfront" and "the tranquility of nature."
Why not escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and paddle out onto the beautiful waters of Fukui?
